The Nutcracker composed by Tchaikovsky is a much-loved fairytale ballet in two acts. This 2007 production is performed by the Mariinsky Theatre company (formerly known as the Kirov Ballet) on the stage where the ballet first premiered in 1892. Conceived by Mikhail Chemiakin, the Russian ?migr? and avant-garde sculptor, this witty and sophisticated production, with eye-catching costumes and dramatic staging, is a visual feast for the Christmas season.
